Comcast "Wideband" High-Speed Internet Could Reach 160Mbps
Posted on Apr 3, 08 01:05 PM PDT

160Mbps is a peak theoretical number of course, but still, it should be significantly faster that any consumer connection when it comes out. At the moment, only Mineapolis and St-paul residents can benefit from a 50 Mbps offer that could eventually reach 160Mbps. It doesn’t come for cheap ($150 per month), but I guess that there is a good niche of customers who would sign up.
It always bugs me to see that we’re in @#$^ Silicon Valley and that I am stuck with a 6Mbps DSL connection and a 16Mbps cable one.Your Comments

Don't feel like you're getting the short end of the stick. Comcast can barely get my signal to produce 1.5 down and 256K up speeds. They're among the worst service providers I've ever had and I've lived in a lot of places. This is marketing hype to show some projected growth of revenue and get their stock price to go up. A tiny fraction of their households will have access to this.
