Dragon Power Station

With an exotic name like Dragon Power Station, you can be sure that is bound to attract attention. What this does is great for the environment as well, as it harnesses the power of kinetic energy to produce electricity. What Terry Kenney did was to embed plates in the asphalt, and as trucks pass over those plates, "they compress a tank of hydraulic fluid under the road, which in turn creates a series of pumping actions that turns a generator to produce electricity." The Dragon Power Station currently generates around 5,000 to 7,000 kilowatt-hours daily for Kenney, which is more than enough to power 1,750 homes. Neat!

The figures (5000-7000 kwh/day = 250 kw on average = 350 ch) prove that it is a hoax.

The only possible efficient use of this would be in areas were vehicles must slow down. Perhaps in front of toll stations, stop signs, or steep declines. And even then it's best only where there are non-Hybrid vehicles that don't have regenerative braking.
Applying this just anywhere on a road would be inefficient and actually less "green". You'd think with 8 years invested, he might have realized this and had it mentioned in the article.

Not only this guy is stealing energy (gas) from the passing vehicules but he's probably wasting a good part of it while transforming it in the process... sight...

Does it mean that if local government install these along a highway, we can get some cheap electricity out of the trucks driven by?
