Green Seach Engine

Search engines are search engines, right? Apparently not. Ecocho.co.uk prides itself in being the first free green search engine in the world, offsetting carbon emissions at no cost to the user. It was recently launched in the UK along with 14 other countries all over the world, and is powered by both Google and Yahoo!. This Australian initiative was specially designed to combat environmental change by sponsoring the planting of two trees for every 1,000 searches made. I wonder where will they find the amount of land to plant trees, and will there be any follow up on how the trees are treated years down the road? Alleviate a little bit of your guilt for driving a Hummer by doing some searches at www.ecocho.co.uk.
