Maplin has just rolled out its own portable video recorder that allows you to watch your own recorded home movies instantly without connecting to a TV, all for £179.99. Features include :-

• 128MB internal flash memory
• SD memory card slot (up to 2GB)

Sounds pretty pricey when converted to dollars, considering it doesn't even do high definition like the DXG-569V HD camcorder at a fraction of the price.
