Microsoft to Have a Full Web Browser in 2008

CTIA 2008 – Microsoft claims that it will have a fully-featured web browser in 2008, more precisely in the third quarter. Full support for Flash and JavaScript/AJAX are particularly important.
That’s good news, but to be honest, the smartness of a mobile browser is only part of the problem. The bigger issue is how big de display resolution is and we all know that pocket devices have limitations. The iPhone, or even better, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 (photo gallery) get closer to the limit. The latter offers an 800 pixel wide display, which mimics low-end desktop monitors.
Both issues (size and software) should and will be tackled simultaneously, but let’s not forget that, in the end, building a site designed for small displays is a better solution.
