Posted on Apr 28, 08 07:28 PM PDT

Word on the street has it that PureDepth will be shipping its first Multi-Layer Display LCDs pretty soon, featuring technology that boasts of two or more layers of LCD panels which share a common back light source. This will create a depth effect when you're viewing material without the need for 3D glasses which tend to induce headaches more than anything else. PureDepth has signed agreements with Samsung to further develop this display in cell phones while Sanyo will do cell phones, gaming solutions and automotive electronics. More eye candy for the masses - when will the bus actually stop? When we have in-the-eye HUDs?
