QR Finds A Voice
Posted on Apr 2, 08 07:17 PM PDT

Who would've known that the humble barcode has finally found a voice of its own - the Voice QR in Japan will speak once it has been scanned with your cell phone camera, saying something which has been programmed into the QR code itself. Some of the phrases mentioned include “Hello,” “Well done on getting into college,” or “Thanks for your hard work.” Sounds perfect to give verbal reminders for those who are about to pop their medication from the pharmacist. Unfortunately, current technology limits it to just two seconds, so you can forget about having a product tell you lengthy stories in the meantime.
