Russia Mulls Over WiFi Registration
Posted on Apr 16, 08 12:36 PM PDT

Russians as well as folks living there could face the possibility of registering all WiFi capable devices in one's possession, no thanks to a policy has been adopted by the government agency responsible for regulating communications and cultural protection. Guess all the Nintendo DS Lite and PSP owners there will require special permission even to have some much-needed R&R time. Registration for smartphones and notebooks might take up to 10 days, while routers will take the longer route (pardon the pun) since there is a need for additional documentation and a proper license. What do you think of this set-up? Will it ever work Stateside?
