Toshiba To Stop Manufacturing Light Bulbs
Posted on Apr 17, 08 02:24 AM PDT

Toshiba Lighting & Technology Corp. will stop producing general incandescent light bulbs as well as shut down all the relevant production lines in about 2010, with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions. While this won't result in the shortage of general incandescent bulbs worldwide then, at least it is encouraging to read up on companies who have our environment and future in mind. Well, all good things must come to an end so we ought to reflect on how hard the folk at Toshiba are feeling especially since they started to commercialize incandescent light bulbs around 120 years ago.
