Touch Bionics i-LIMB

Touch Bionics has rolled out a new prosthetic hand that is the closest thing yet to a real, biological hand. It features five independently movable fingers with precise controls where wearers can exert just the right amount of pressure to use a keyboard and pick up fragile things without ending up like a bull in a china shop. The i-LIMB relies on muscle movements on the wearer's forearms when it comes to controlling the individual fingers, applying pressure back to the user's skin to let them know just how much force is being applied to the current object being picked up. These are the real deal and no longer under the prototype phase, but they will burn a rather huge hole in your pocket - to the tune of $17,500 to be exact.
