Wiimote Measures Acceleration, G-Forces
Posted on Apr 2, 08 10:04 AM PDT

The Wiimote is no ordinary video game controller - until today, it is safe to assume that Nintendo's Wiimote is more than capable of performing other tasks instead of just gaming routines. Somebody has managed to hack the Wiimote (definitely not the last to do so) by using its integrated 3-axis accelerometers to measure G-forces while calculating the acceleration of your car. What are the stuff you need other than the obviously painful Wiimote? A copy of Glovepie v0.29 (or higher) is a good place to start, complemented by a Bluetooth dongle with the BlueSoleil human interface drivers. Is there anything the Wiimote cannot do?
