Asus Leaks Montevina, Puma Notebooks
Posted on May 28, 08 10:00 PM PDT

Word has apparently got out that Asus will be releasing new notebooks that run on both Intel's Montevina and AMD's Puma platforms, with designs based on current M51 and M70 lines. The M51VR is tipped to run on a 2.26GHz Penryn P8400 with 3MB of L2 cache on Montevina's 1.06GHz bus, whilst the M51VA and M70VM will be powered by 2.53GHz T9400s with 6MB of cache. Computex will also be the debut platform for Asus' Puma-based F5Z and X50Z laptops with 1.9GHz AMD Athlon64 X2 QL-60 processors, 667MHz buses, ATI Mobility Radeon HD3200 graphics and 15.4" displays. I hope somebody comes up with a benchmark test soon to draw up a comparison so that ordinary folks will be able to make a better informed purchasing decision.
