Asus has just rolled out its P5Q motherboard that brings five exclusive features to the masses, including a Linux-based Express Gate technology which is a simplified operating system. This allows you to load up only the required programs that are needed to access the Internet, doing away with the need to wait forever for Windows to load up. Perfect for those who want to catch a little bit of browsing on the go when time is tight. Other features include an integrated EPU energy saving chip, Asus' own VRM (voltage regulation module) that takes advantage of a 16-phase power design. High CPU loads result in using all 16 phases, while low processin periods turn on a 4-phase system. There is no word on pricing or availability of the P5Q series motherboards, but they make the perfect fodder for the Internet addicted road warrior.
