Asus to Make Splashtop Standard
Posted on May 14, 08 10:38 AM PDT
Asus has plans to "proliferate Splashtop across the entire motherboard product portfolio, starting with more than 1 million motherboards per month" - this move will first be realized on four new motherboard models from the soon-to-come P5Q series. What exactly is Splashtop?
With Splashtop your computer is ready to use seconds after you turn it on. Instead of waiting for a full boot, you have Web access in mere seconds. Chat, surf, play a game - all one click away. Splashtop is a secure Web-surfing environment. You can surf the Web while staying immune to many of the attacks that plague Windows (I like the sound of that). Splashtop boots so quickly there's no reason to leave your PC on all the time. Now you can use your time more effectively, and consume much less energy.
Now to see if the promises really hold water. I can't wait for these Splashtop models to be available for testing - can you?
