AUO has harnessed advanced thermal and optical technologies to develop ultra-slim 42” TFT LCDs with LED technology. This new LED TV is extremely slim, measuring less than 10mm which translates to a whopping 44% reduction in weight. The highly efficient white LEDs also help reduce power consumption in addition to simplifying the driving circuit, achieving a high brightness level of 450 nits and a contrast ratio of 200,000 to 1. This will be mighty expensive, so you might want to stick to your decision of getting a standard TFT LCD TV in the meantime.
