EchoStar announces SlingModem
May 14, 08 09:42 PM PDT

EchoStar's SlingModem doesn't look that far off from a commercial release, after experiencing a soft launch at CES 2008 earlier this year. This device is a cable modem that boasts integrated Slingbox features. It won't be available at retail stores, but will instead be sold directly to cable providers where end users like you and I have an option of purchasing it or leasing it from our respective cable providers. There is no word on pricing as at press time.
