Things get even more interesting with chip maker Intel having plans to roll out its own SSD products before Q3 of this year is over, making it part of its upcoming Centrino 2 platform (Montevina). This new product line has been dubbed the Intel High Performance SSD and will mainly targeting enterprise, mid-range and high-end notebook markets. Both of these will be available in 1.8" and 2.5" sizes, hence their respective names of Client X18-M and Client X25-M, featuring a capacity of 80GB as well as a SATA interface. There are plans to increase the total storage space to 160GB before the year is over and even to 250GB by next year.
