Libelula Rocket Helicopter Concept
Posted on May 2, 08 06:36 AM PDT

Now here's a concept that I hope to see it take off literally - the Libelula Rocket Helicopter. It boasts tiny rocket motors at the tips of the rotor blades, letting the Libelula eliminate torque which makes a tail rotor compulsory in a standard helicopter. This will theoretically make it more reliable - an assuring thought when you're way up in the sky with no parachute to help you out in case of a malfunction. Hopefully those gas tanks are stable though - I wouldn't want to end up in a blazing ball of fire as I make my glorious landing.
