Microsoft Imposes Limitations

Low cost Windows-powered PCs are under siege as Microsoft released a list of artificial limitations. This comes across as the price to pay by ultra low cost PC manufacturers to receive a huge discount on Windows XP Home. Some of the limitations include a maximum screen size of 10.2", an 80GB hard drive, no more than 1GB RAM, or anything superior to a single-core 1GHz processor (unless your name is Intel Atom N270). What's worse is this - you can't have touch screen displays to go along with your budget PC, too. Apparently these restrictions are in place as Microsoft doesn't want more competition for its Vista operating system that seems to be having trouble gaining merit on its own.
