OLED Passport the Future?
Posted on May 19, 08 06:49 PM PDT

Samsung SDI and Bundesdruckerei from Germany have come up with a new passport that aims to up the ante when it comes to border security, featuring a 700µm polycarbonate data page that holds an active matrix bendable 300µm OLED display. This OLED display will be able to display both video and text containing information about the passport holder. The ePassport is touted to be completely manipulation-proof, but where have I heard that before? The display doesn't require any batteries to run as it will come to life only when activated by a reader.
