Solar Lily Pads in Glasgow

Guess the VEIL Solar Shades concept might come true earlier than expected, although in a different form. Scottish architecture firm ZM Architecture will be proposing Solar Lily Pads that will float about in Glasgow’s River Clyde, obtaining juice from the sun in order to generate electricity for the entire city. Granted, the amount harvested probably won't amount up to much but at least this will help ease the burden on the city's current grid. This is definitely one interesting method to expand the role of photovoltaics beyond conventional places like rooftops.
