Sony HT-IS100 Home Theater System

Sony's new HT-IS100 home theater system will come accompanied by five golf ball-sized speakers, but apparently speakers this size has been around for a fair bit of time already so there really isn't much new to see over here. What we have though, is the 5.1-channels it offers along with a three HDMI input system for high definition buffs. The Sony HT-IS100 will be released on July 15th in japan, retailing for $870 for the entire set. I suppose being that small in size, it would be easy to set up a discreet home theater system right smack in the middle of the living room.

At least Sony can't embed a rootkit trojan in this product! Or proprietary cables? Next question is, will it last over the typical 1 year lifespan many of their products have.
They DO make excellent cameras, tv's & video cameras tho! Shame that quality doesn't extend to the rest of their products.

Has anyone heard these speakers yet?
Are they really any good?
How loud before distortion?
