Sony Ultra Small Hybrid Fuel Cell
Posted on May 2, 08 05:34 AM PDT

Sony is at the forefront of technology yet again, producing a prototype fuel cell that is extremely tiny, small enough to fit in a single hand. This fuell cell system includes a secondary battery and a control circuit, using methanol as fuel. It is also an active fuel-cell system that controls the fuel supply with a pump. Being of a hybrid type, it features output output supplemented by a Li-polymer secondary battery. It is capable of dispensing energy efficiently to last up to 14 hours of non-stop 1Seg movie playback on the cell phone. I wonder when will such a prototype actually end up in actual cell phones in the market?
