Toyota Crown Hybrid gets Night View
May 29, 08 11:43 PM PDT

Folks who drive away the Toyota Crown Hybrid in Japan will be pleased to know that their vehicle features a "Night View" system that is capable of displaying the view of the road ahead at night. This would certainly go a long way in helping reduce accidents at night when vision is dropped considerably compared to the daytime. This new system will rely on pattern recognition in order to recognize pedestrians, using yellow frames displayed around the pedestrian in order to alert the driver without having to shift the sight to the LCD meter. The LCD meter itself boasts a resolution of 1,280 x 480 pixels, capable of displaying the Night View system, vehicle speed, brightness and weather all at once.
