Xtreme Notebooks go Quad

Quad damage for hardware is now a reality with the new line of Xtreme Notebooks that will be the first off the blocks to offer Intel's quad core chips in the US. There will be a choice of five different Intel quad core processors to choose from, and you can even throw in up to 64GB SSD drives and a Blu-ray optical drive to suit your portable entertainment needs. A 17" display is capable of hitting up to 1,600 x 1,050 resolution, but that wouldn't do Blu-ray movies any justice hence the option to upgrade the display to hit a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200. Other features include a 4.1-channel audio set-up, a built-in webcam and the choice between single or SLI nVidia GeForce setups. You will need to dig deep for these though as the starting price stands at a whopping $2,900, while a fully decked out configuration might even cost you upwards of $10,00. Ouch!
