Collapsible Carbon Fiber Surfboard Concept
Posted on Jun 1, 08 09:22 PM PDT

With summer (not in Australia anyways) coming up, it is time to hit the beaches and go surfing. Nick Notara has developed this collapsible concept design of a surfboard that breaks down into a couple of pieces, making it a snap to transport around without compromising on its structural integrity, thanks to the use of a carbon fibre backbone and two self centering, constant loading pin joints. In addition, you will be able to enjoy a "hot-swappable" fin configuration that allows one to set up the type of wave being surfed. Won't do much in the event of a shark attack though.
