Helio Stores Close

An image of the Helio store in the upmarket Cherry Creek shopping district of Denver, CO has put up a "Closed" sign, which clearly confirms the news that MVNO Helio is planning to wind up after a long, hard battle in this dog-eat-dog business world. There is a faint glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel though as merger talks are happening between parent firm SK Telecom and Virgin Mobile USA. Should that fail, Helio subscribers will probably be migrated over to the Virgin Mobile network. Hopefully all this depressing news won't have a negative impact on the release of Helio's Ocean 2.

I wish I'd seen this post earlier today. I went by the Helio store in Cherry Creek to pay my bill only to find the doors locked (although the only sign we saw in the window said that their hours were Monday - Friday from 12pm - 5pm).
