Lenovo ThinkPad X200 Peek
Posted on Jun 19, 08 09:56 AM PDT

Lenovo's ThinkPad X200 ultraportable notebook has experienced a leak today, and everyone is excited at how this 12" notebook looks like. Set to oust the X61, the X200 has a keyboard as generous as the X300, but it does away with the trackpad to settle for the ThinkPad's trackpoint instead. There won't be any optical drive inside as well, which means the X200 weighs a featherlight 2.9 pounds. It will be powered by Intel's Centrino 2 platform and consumes a mere 25 watts while operating. Other features include a 200GB hard drive, a trio of USB 2.0 ports, an ExpressCard slot and a 1.3 megapixel webcam. No idea on when this will ship nor how much your pocket will hurt.

the trackpoint is awesome - agree with thewolf's comment. I just really want the solid state drive (at least 100Gb) and I buy it! Cannot stand the delays anymore in booting up or shutting down.

Settle for a trackpoint? Right. Like I want that trackpad taking up space!

I wonder why they cannot use a bigger SD drive, since apparently they are amnufactured and sold separately.
