Sony Ericsson has new USB Modems

Sony Ericsson doesn’t just manufacture cell phones and Bluetooth headsets, they apparently do USB modems as well. This time round, the MD400 and MD400g cater for frequent travelers, with the latter being GPS-capable and both support 3G cellular data up to 7.2Mbps (theoretical) via any HSDPA-based network. What makes these modems special is the inclusion of a Memory Stick Micro and microSD memory card slots which allow on-the-fly storage as well as a way to transfer media to and from cell phones there and then. Compatible with both Windows and Mac platforms, they’re smart enough to auto-configure themselves to the corresponding network without the need to install programs/drivers from a CD. Shipping worldwide this fall, it is a shame Sony Ericsson has yet to attach a price tag to the MD400 and MD400g.
