Vibering Concept

Designers Kwang-seok Jeong, Min-hee Kim and Hyun-joong Kim have rolled out this really awe-inspiring design known as the Vibering. It aims to help the hearing impaired stay in touch with the rest of the world, holding a sound detection and identification system within which is worn as a pair of rings and a watch. The rings on both hands will function as virtual ears, capable of listening to sound around the wearer while determining distance, position and vibrate according to source. The wristwatch module will identify the sound wave and show results in an easy-to-read LCD display. Heck, it is even smart enough to recognize key phrases such as “Excuse Me”, your own name and even a vehicle's horn. I wonder what kind of technology is involved to make this a reality, and just how many years away are we from.
