AMD Introduces Phenom X4 9950, 9350e and 9150e

AMD just announced their processor line-up update. It consists of three new chips: the X4 9950 ($235) is the new high-end, while the 9350e ($195) and 9150e ($175) are aimed at the “energy-conscious users”, whatever that means. Anyhow it is not really lower-power, cheaper or better than Intel’s offering and Intel still holds the high ground in absolute performance. The bottom line is that Intel has a more efficient architecture and that AMD is not really in a position where it can compete on pricing. Not good.

obviously a reseller. Intel has no 65W quad core parts now or in the foreseeable future.
