Gartner predicts the demise of the mouse within five years – LOL

That’s coming from Steven Prentice, an analyst at Gartner. He thinks that technologies like facial recognition and neural interfaces (“mind readers”) will help oust the mouse from our desks. Although, I’m a fan of these technologies (especially from Emotiv), I think that it’s just crazy to think that the mouse will be gone, in 5 years. The closest threat might be “touch display”, which is not new or more productive, just “cooler” in some circles. Even then, it’s a mouse “complement” – not a replacement.
