Google Targets Digg
Posted on Jul 23, 08 03:53 AM PDT

Not in a negative but positive manner, of course. The company that claims that it won't do evil is extremely interested in Digg, and are willing to pony up to $200 million for it. At least, that's what the numbers show when spewed on the street despite a whole host of denials from Google and Digg executives. Some insider information have pointed towards a deal being in its final negotiations, and if everything goes well, Digg will be part of Google News. Interestingly enough, Digg is tied down to a three-year advertising deal with Microsoft, so expect that agreement to come to an end if Google managed to snag this company.
