Homemade Plasma Arc Loudspeaker
Posted on Jul 6, 08 09:09 PM PDT
This prototype homemade plasma arc loudspeaker relies on tungsten tipped electrodes and a whopping 60,000 volts to develop a huge and impressive plasma arc. Of course, this isn't the safest thing to have in your home, but at least it sure as heck has more "wow" factor compared to a 105" plasma TV. According to the boffin who came up with this, it "develops no ozone at all", but it will be interesting to see whether any certification by an official body is possible. The video is extremely jaw-dropping, so expect to wipe your drool off the floor if you happen to see this in the real world.
