iPhone 3G Battery Life Guide
Posted on Jul 23, 08 06:40 PM PDT

You know those car guides that tell you how to maximize your mileage? Well, in the world of portable consumer electronics, "mileage" would be defined as battery life, and with many people already rocking to an iPhone 3G, it makes perfect sense to dole out good advice on prolonging it's battery life before heading to the nearest charger. Some of the more obvious steps would be turning off any and every additional function such as 3G and Bluetooth connectivity, but if you really need those two, you can always hold down the Home button to close whatever background applications that are still running. The same thing happens when you reboot the handset, but that's a no-brainer. One honorable mention would be turning off the "Ask to join networks" feature in the Wi-Fi settings so that your handset doesn't go around searching for one even though you don't need to stay connected at the moment.
