Microsoft Unveils Vista Media Center SideShow Beta
Jul 3, 08 07:47 AM PDT

Microsoft recently released a beta of the Vista Media Center SideShow control gadget, but don't expect too much from it since the functions available are pretty basic at this point in time. A glaring omission is the Media Center Extender control, although Microsoft did mention it will be able to do that - probably sometime in the near future. Features available at this point in time include browsing the Guide and scheduling recordings, listing recorded TV and the ability to start playback, browse music, picture and video libraries, and display “Now Playing” information.
