Mobissimo introduces social networking feature MobiFriends

Mobissimo is a travel search engine that helps users find the best deals from over 180 travel sites simultaneously. Today, CEO Beatrice Tarka told me that they are rolling out MobiFriends to add a social networking flavor to the site. Mobissimo travelers will be able to connect with friends and an to extended network to get tips on others’ favorites restaurants, hotels, and point of interests. From the widget located on their home page, travelers can add their favorite points of interests in each city they visited and broadcast the good deals they added to their trip plans via Facebook and Twitter. It seems cool, I just started to test it briefly, but not completely, however. With the arrival of a new generation of customers, regular travel sites now feel the need to add social networking features to their offering. The pressure might also come from new comers like PlanetEye, who pushes the social networking to the foreground and integrates the regular travel deals search in the background.
