NEC PaPeRo Helps You Get Home
Posted on Jul 24, 08 06:24 PM PDT

NEC's PaPeRo robot is one cute critter, and there is now an added dimension to its functionality. It is able to input information such as the destination and purpose of an outing into a vehicle navigation system, helping you arrive there safe and sound within the shortest route possible. For example, when a user tells the PaPeRo in the house that one is heading to "Yokohama on a date", it will then upload the information to the server, resulting in the best route to get there which is then displayed via the car's GPS navigation system. I wonder what happens during a domestic spat, and one partner tells the other to "Go to hell!". I guess the poor PaPeRo will come to one single conclusion - Does Not Compute.
