Rumor: iPhone with a Physical Keyboard Shown to Key Executives?
Note: this is a concept image - not a real device

There have been various “reports” (hear rumors) of an iPhone with a “radically different” appearance in the past, but today the word on the street is that Apple has shown an iPhone with a physical keyboard (hear QWERTY) to key executives representing wireless carriers. This, if it was true, would be a good news for the many who own an iPhone (for the style) and a Blackberry (to get the job done). At least in Silicon Valley, this crowd is getting larger by the day and it can only get worse with a GPS-enabled iPhone in 9 days. The physical keyboard is now the main barrier that prevents Apple from getting into BlackBerry’s market in a big way. Personally, that’s the thing holding me back...

I'd be happy if they'd just enable the Bluetooth keyboard profile. I'd keep a small keyboard in the car if they'd do that.

Hi Danny (CommentID #759643), the title says it all, it's a rumor. Yes, it might be wishful thinking but that is still a possibility. Apple has laid out a vision of "touch-interface superiority", but if the market demands it, they can still add a sliding keyboard and keep the touch interface. They could provide the market what it wants while retaining all the benefits of what Apple is trying to push. Is that nonsense? Thanks for contributing.

This 'article' is nonsense. Clearly wishful thinking.

The touch screen / virtual keyboard is Apple's vision. They believe that it is superior to the tiny little buttons on most smart phones.

Don't hold your breath waiting for Apple to compromise their product to get your custom. You are just not that important.
