Samsung YP-U4 Supports OGG
Posted on Jul 10, 08 08:31 PM PDT

It is interesting to note that a huge chunk of portable media player manufacturers don't support Ogg in many of their devices despite it being an unrestricted format. Perhaps manufacturers want to distance themselves from using a container format which "holds" a fair number of codecs simultaneously. Well, Samsung's recently introduced YP-U4 does not discriminate, supporting the Ogg format in addition to old mainstays WMA and MP3. Features include a 1" OLEd display, USB connectivity and Samsung’s DNSe 2.0 engine. No idea on pricing, but the Samsung YP-U4 will come in 1GB and 2GB models. and a USB connector. It’s available in 1GB and 2GB versions
