Averatec Enters Netbook Game

Averatec will be making a splash in the netbook market with their own version, with a 10.2" model being the first in a (possibly) long line of netbooks down the road. As with other comparable netbooks, this will be Atom-powered, and Averatec will concentrate on people who want a smaller laptop, which is significantly different from wanting a larger PDA. Averatec's director, Darren Lee takes a snub at other netbook manufacturers by claiming their model will have a near full-sized keyboard with an actual 'Shift' key and a decent hard drive size of 120GB, without breaking past the 3 pounds barrier. The final product will cost somewhere between $399 and $499 as it is released this sometime before Christmas.
