BenQ LCD Monitors Help Save Power
Posted on Aug 8, 08 09:14 AM PDT

BenQ has a couple of High Definition LCD monitors for the masses - the E900HD and G900HD that aim to make the world a greener place. Both models will come with 16:9 widescreen format display and a special 2-lamp design that throws out a brightness of 300 nits which is the equivalent of 4-lamp models. The use of two lamps helps save power in the long run, which is good if you're sitting in front of the computer all day long. BenQ claims that the 18.5" models also comes with a dynamic contrast ratio of 10,000:1 despite sipping 30W of power in total, reducing CO2 emissions by up to 25% while mercury is cut to 50%.
