Dell Precision M4400 Workstation Laptop

Dell has released a new mobile workstation called Precision M4400. The presence of a QuadroFX card and support for up to 8GB of memory are hints that it could be efficiently used for heavy computer graphics (offline) rendering. Note that it has been reported elsewhere that it could support up to 16GB, 8GB is the only number shown on the official specifications. An entry-level configuration with 8GB costs around $2800 and interestingly enough, the operating system does not say whether or not Vista 64-bit is installed when you select more than 4GB, so make sure that Vista 64 is what you are getting. It's kind of expensive, but if you want a 8GB laptop (and depending on your work, it might be a really good thing) you don't have much of a choice. Hopefully, consumer laptops will follow...
