Intel looks set to unleash a whole new slew of SSD drives for the masses next week at IDF '08. The buzz concerning this release is due to the fact that Intel is ready to pounce on the title of the fastest SSD drive in the market. There will be a trio of versions that offer speeds of up to 240MB/s, available in all three models - X25-E, X25-M and X18-M. The X25 will come in a 2.5" form factor while the X18 is much smaller at 1.8". It will be interesting to see which computers will be using these new SSDs in due time.
