Apple confirms iPhone's application kill switch

The rumors about an application blacklisting mechanism were true: Apple has confirmed what everybody knew, but most importantly, they explained why: this is to protect iPhone users from "malicious" (or unwanted?) software. It's not surprising that Apple wants to have a mechanism that will allow the company to exert control over its platform. That's what console makers have been doing all along, although under a different form. The question is: will Apple use this "nuke" and under which circumstances.
