iPhone 3G Video: life versus advertising
Posted on Aug 12, 08 02:54 PM PDT
Hopefully no iPhone customer will be surprised that, in the real world, the iPhone isn't nearly as fast as when it is shown on TV. Interestingly, the TV ad is all about how 3G is twice as fast (than 2.5G) and while Apple doesn't claim that the ad is accurate, it is certainly giving a rosy tint to the whole experience. Anyhow, I think that they have the perfect excuse: time dilation is necessary because ad slots are only 30 seconds long - or about what it takes to load two web pages (if you don’t have any reception issues)
