Microsoft Incorporates Blu-ray Support

Interestingly enough, Microsoft is now the first operating system developer to incorporate Blu-ray support into its platform thanks to the Microsoft Feature Pack for Storage. This enables the following operating systems - Windows XP, Vista, Server 2003 and Server 2008 to burn Blu-ray discs directly from the OS without the help from third party applications which normally add to the running cost of your computer. I wonder what these third party application vendors have to say about Microsoft's move, and whether they will review the pricing structure of their software. This update is currently in a test beta phase, but a full release is expected to roll out before the year is over. Don't get your hopes up on a Blu-ray Xbox 360 though.
