Shimano Launches Electronic Shifting

In a world where everything that is analog is slowly being converted to digital, Japanese parts manufacturer, Shimano, are launching their electronic shifting system for high-end road bikes. The system, which will be called Di2 will be reaching stores in January 2009, and will look to replace the traditional levels that pull the cables on bicycles with solid-state switches and rubber-coated wires.
