Touch Sight For The Visually Impaired

Published on 08/ 4/2008

Touch Sight is an interesting camera, mainly because it’s designed for visually impaired people. Since a conventional camera won’t do the trick, as a still picture isn’t good enough, the Touch Sight records sounds and displays imagery via 3D embossing, this will allow the user to remember the moment via two other senses, namely hearing and touch. Instead of using a LCD, Touch Sight uses a flexible Braille display sheet, which will display a 3D image by embossing the surface, which will allow the user to touch the image, and when coupled with the recorded sound becomes a touchable “photo” which can also be uploaded to share with other people.
