Xbox 360 outsells the PlayStation 3 in Japan last week-end

That concerns the sales number for the past week-end. "Microsoft sold 28,116 units of the Xbox 360 in the week ended August 10, compared with 10,705 units of the PS3" (Reuters). People think that the uptick in Xbox 360 sales is due to the launch of Namco's "Tales of Vesperia" (video link), a trendy role-playing game (RPG). In the past, Sony would probably have gotten an exclusive deal with Namco, but it looks like Sony isn't ready to pay for such rights this time around. This might be interpreted as a mistake by industry watchers. I certainly think that exclusives are strategic to the success of a console. Nintendo sold 41044 Wii consoles in the same period.
